Eating things with sugar in it tastes really good but you can’t really tell what all of that sugar does to your body. Sugar gives your brain a huge surge of dopamine. Dopamine is the reason that once you have sugar you’re craving more within a few hours. Eating a candy bar can raise your blood sugar levels and make you hyper, it is also called a sugar rush. Once your blood sugar drops again you will feel really tired and jittery, at this point you have reached the dreaded sugar crash. We all know that sugar can rot your teeth and give you cavities if left on your teeth overnight or longer. Joint pain is another reason to lay off the sugar, sugar causes inflammation and worsens joint pain and cause rheumatoid arthritis. Another affect sugar has on your body is acne, when you eat a candy bar you might wake up and notice a huge zit on your face the next day, you can thank the snickers for that! An abundance of sugar can also make your liver resistant to insulin, which turns the sugar that you ingest into energy. Kidneys play an important role in filtering blood sugar and when you eat an abundance of sugar it can damage your kidneys leaving them unable to do their job and causing type 2 diabetes if left uncontrolled.
