Another in the Fire

If I want to live life to the fullest, I need to remember that God doesn’t always prevent tragedy, but He is with me in all things.

Good morning!

How are you doing, in the midst of all that’s going on?

This morning, as I thought about what I could share to encourage you, I thought of this verse from the prophet Isaiah:

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” (Isaiah 43:2, NIV)

You know, if we think about it, there are so many examples even in the Bible where the men and women of God faced tragedy and difficulty even despite being in close proximity to God.

Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den, and his three best friends were thrown into a furnace. Job lost everything except his wife and his three nagging friends. Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers. David’s spiritual father — and later his own son — both sent him into the wilderness, fleeing for his life.

Yes. We are dealing with a pandemic that has shut down countless businesses, institutions, and jobs; one that requires us to wear masks and at least recommends that we stay indoors and keep ourselves safe. For the good of the whole, our freedoms are restricted, and yet we feel stifled, like the water’s rising all around us and we’re all slowly drowning.

God did not say that this wouldn’t happen. But, over three thousand years ago, before our Pandemic happened, He told us that no matter what, He would be with us.

This morning, as I hope to encourage you, I want to suggest that you listen to the song, Another in the Fire (Hillsong United), and remember that you are not alone in this, that God will not let you go. He is with you through thick and thin.

With love, God bless!

P.S. If you have any prayer requests, feel free to send them my way, I’d love to pray for you today!
