Dinners and Relationships

Good morning!

Have you ever hosted a dinner?

Since my parents moved out, I have somehow managed to go from not knowing how to cook a single thing to now having a few signature dishes that I can knock out of the park time after time, and every couple weeks or so, I’ve opened up my house to host dinners for some of the people around me.

And you know what? Even though I may not have crystal cups or even a fancy tablecloth (yet!), there’s just something so special about inviting someone into your home and making them feel like a million bucks.

It honestly doesn’t make that much effort; you just need to be willing to put in the time to make dinner (Chicken Alfredo’s always a fan favorite), clear your schedule to be able to accommodate for guests, and spend time with them, genuinely caring about what they have to say while eating good food and serving them to the best of your ability.

If you haven’t tried it yet, or simply haven’t done it recently, I highly suggest doing it; you’ll probably learn more about the gospel and God’s selfless love through simply having people over for dinner — with no expectation of them inviting you back over or doing you a favor; make sure your intentions are pure — and treat them like they are absolute royalty.

You might just be blown away by how such simple acts of selfless love towards another person might just improve your relationship with them and bring you so much closer together. After all, who doesn’t like free food?

God bless you, have a great day!
