Keep Dreaming

Just because everything hasn’t turned out the way you imagined it doesn’t mean you should stop dreaming of a better future.

Good morning!

What is the most outrageous dream/goal/vision you have?

In our efforts to be adults, so many of us shut down our dreams. We dream big when we are young, but in an attempt to become more mature, we say “No” to our imaginations and limit ourselves to a form of realism that really just sucks life dry.

Now, there’s a quote from Winston Churchill that I do want to acknowledge here: “We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us.”

While it is true that our decisions — made by our own free wills — limit our future abilities to choose, meaning that former mistakes do lessen our freedoms in the present — that does not mean that we can no longer dream.

Sure, you may not be able to accomplish the dreams you had when you were 9, wanting to be the next president, as the decisions you’ve made have either increased or decreased your odds and created constraints for your future, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t dream new dreams.

Make new goals! Have new desires! Open your eyes, look around, and just imagine: “What if…?”

You’re not dead yet, and while there is still breath in your lungs, you can still dream and build a new and slightly better future. I believe in you.

God bless you, have a great day!
