Motivated by Love

We all need motivators to keep us going in times of hardship, and, generally, they have specific names.

Good morning!

What pushes you on, keeps you going?

Everyone has rough spots every now and then, times when it feels all too easy to shy back from one’s responsibilities and take a step back, far away from all the stress and the work and the people one cares for.

When you do get stuck in a rough patch, what keeps you going? What motivates you to get back up every day and try to take on the world once again? What drives you to continue to love people, even if you feel as though you receive nothing in return?

If I know my species well enough, I may assert that the answers generally rely on a deep love for someone or something, whether that’s the love of country fueling a despairing soldier, the love of family pushing a struggling businessman forward, or the love of children pushing a mother and a teacher to both stick with what they are doing, regardless of the sometimes counterproductive progress.

If you’re facing a rough patch this morning, I want you to remember why you’re in this battle in the first place. What is the object of your affection that continues to drive you forward and keep your gears grinding towards the finish line? Remember who and what you do things for, and perhaps you’ll recognize that the struggle is worth it.

God bless you, have a great day!
