1. The Never-Ending Paperwork Tower of Doom

When I first decided to move abroad, I pictured sunsets, hanging out in Pubs and Cafe’s and new adventures.

But what I got instead was an Everest-sized mountain of paperwork that I swear was designed to test my patience.

Imagine sitting in an overcrowded government office, clutching a folder full of birth certificates, diplomas, tax returns, and that one blurry old style Polaroid photo from a family reunion in 1998 because, yes, they might need that too.

And every time I thought I had everything, a stern-looking official would hand me a new form that apparently had “always” been required.
