The Fear of Working Out Loud

Bromford Lab are trying to get back into the Working Out Loud thing — starting by publishing their weekly priorities.

Even as we were discussing it this morning there is a part of my brain nagging me into not sharing things.

It’s been built into us.

Don’t share things as someone will steal your ideas.

What if we want to sell this?

That’s not been approved — it isn’t ready to share.

Sharing things will just worry people unnecessarily

Don’t tell people — we don’t wash our dirty linen in public.

This is all baggage we need to lose as we make the transition from closed hierarchies to open networks.

Most of our current challenges can’t be solved alone. The starting point is to build a network with people that can help us.

Keep sharing until someone tries to stop you.
