Alzheimer's

One day your mom doesn’t remember who you are, how do you respond? How do you feel? I would feel scared and sad. This has happened to many people who’s family members are diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease. What is Alzheimer's? Alzheimer’s is a form of dementia, or senile dementia. It effects the memory, and progressively gets worse with time. There are no current cures to stop or end the disease, but medications can decrease the severity of the symptoms. I would like to explore the trials that are ongoing now, how it effects the body and Gene Editing. My inspiration to explore this topic was from the show Grey's Anatomy, and from my curiosity in the medical field. I worry about the possibility that the topic has too much detail, and I will have to be more specific. This is a very important topic because Alzheimer’s has no cure, and because of that is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. We should all work together to help find a cure.
