Preppy Private Schools
Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) was the first residential school in Malaysia. Established on 2 January 1905, it was originally known as the Malay Residential School of Kuala Kangsar. The school was the brainchild of RJ Wilkinson, inspector of schools for the Federated Malay States. In a letter to the resident-general dated 24 February 1904, he wrote about establishing a school at a suitable location in the Federated Malay States, a special residential school for the education of Malays of ‘good families’ and for training Malay boys for admission to select branches of the government’s civil service.

Then, the bus stopped in front of the MCKK/Clifford school. The most famous secondary school in Perak. The school was established in 1929. The clifford school was founded in 1897. The MCKK/Clifford schools were absolutely damn nice.
We decided to head back to our home for a much needed rest. It was a really nice experience. We enjoyed it so much. We were very happy; it was exquisite! I’m sure I’ll have just as many details of our experiences, and I hope they will be just as good as Kuala Kangsar’s.
Until then…

We know MCKK is a famous school, arguably the most famous secondary school in Perak. It was established in 1929. MCKK has taught a Malaysian Prime Minister and the current Sultan of Brunei. On the other hand, the Clifford school was started in 1897. It is also located in Kuala Kangsar and was named after the colonial administrator Sir Hugh Clifford in the 1920’s (when he was in government).
