For those who may have seen on the news, or heard through the grapevine; yes, we did have a break in this morning at MCC. Thanks to the quick reaction of our staff and the nearly immediate response of the Miamisburg Police Department, one of the suspects was taken into custody. The police are still conducting their investigation to determine if another suspect is still at large.

Though our offices are a mess, it seems that nothing was permanently broken or taken. We will have some cleanup and reorganization to do but aside from that, everyone is safe. While we wish this wouldn’t have happened, we are thankful it happened to us and not one of our neighbors.

Though we will have to reschedule the Crave Summer kick off for our middles school students, we will still gather for worship on Sunday and enjoy a BBQ lunch together. VBS will still happen next week and God’s Kingdom is still advancing in a broken world. If nothing else, the events of this morning show that people find themselves in desperate and broken situations, Our resolve to help people begin and build a relationship with Jesus is stronger than ever. If we want the world to change, we need to lead with grace and love. We are a community who love God, love all people, and live on mission.

We would like to thank the Miamisburg Police Department for their bravery and professionalism today. They are heroes and we are grateful for their service. We would also like to thank you for your prayers as we get things back in order. For anyone looking to help, we have VBS next week and would gladly accept offers to help us finish getting things set up for an incredible and fun week.
