It is a bit unfair to call shipwrecks remarkable but there is no denying the mystery and trill surrounding it.

Over the years the depths of the oceans have been the silent, and occasional sole witness to some of the most tragic accidents. As sad as it might sound, many shipwrecks around the world have become tourist destinations, and rightfully so — the secrets buried in the depths of these silent graveyards are sure to pique interest.

While it is impossible to delve into the marvels of all these shipwrecks — the UN estimates about 3 million wrecks along the ocean floors! — Let us have a look at 5 such wonders:

1. High Seas Fleet: Not an Accident?

Unfortunately, not all shipwrecks are accidents, some are intentionally sunk, and the High Seas Fleet in Scapa Flow, Orkney Islands is one such event. The High Seas Fleet was Germany’s Imperial Navy battle fleet comprised of many battleships.
