The weather may be cooling down, but that’s no reason to stop enjoying some of the most delicious ice cream treats NYC has to offer!

If you ask any of our friends, we have no doubt that they’d tell you we’re a tad dessert-obsessed — and there’s little we love more than some creamy, sweet, rich ice cream.

That’s why we made it our mission to track down the best frozen treats in NYC. We asked for your help, and boy, did you deliver! Check out the best ice cream places in the Big Apple according to all of our Twitter followers:

1. Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory

Well, @floatingonwondr, we took you up on your suggestion and headed over to the Factory’s Brooklyn Heights location to check out this nutty treat. Our opinion? Yum!!

It was easily the best Butter Pecan we’ve ever had, with the perfect sweet and salty combo to satisfy our cravings (not to mention the gorgeous views!). One tip: if you want to follow our lead and try their ice cream for yourself, they’re cash only — so come prepared.

2.Big Gay Ice Cream

We start our list off with a bang — the famous ‘Salty Pimp’ cone at Big Gay Ice Cream. This NYC-based company got its start selling unique concoctions out of a truck, and now they operate two storefronts in the Village (61 Grove St and 125 E 7th St) and one in Philly.

This is undoubtedly one of our favorite places to indulge our sweet tooth, so we were super excited to see that our Twitter followers agree!

3. Sprinkles Ice Cream New York

We hear ya, @elvia_francis — we love Sprinkles anything, especially their Cupcake ATM (Cake 24/7? Um, yes please!), so we second your suggestion to include them among the best ice cream places in the city.

While we can’t bring ourselves to narrow it down to just one flavor, we highly recommend the Red Velvet Waffle Cone. One word: delicious.

4. Mikey Likes It

We couldn’t agree more, @hollyriddle. Mikey Likes It is a must! Their ice cream is homemade, organic, and can be prepared lactose-free, gluten-free, and vegan. To top it all off, this place is AHmazing! So creamy, so decadent, and so good. We’re sold.

5. Morgenstern’s

We’ve heard from countless friends that Morgenstern’s is one of the best ice cream places around, so when our Twitter followers suggested it too, we knew we had to go!

This LES shop has that classic ice cream parlor feel coupled with a modern approach to flavor and texture that will certainly keep us coming back for more.

6. Black Tap

These are, hands-down, the best milkshakes in New York City…maybe even the world. Although we had to wait in line for thirty minutes to be seated, it was well worth it. Mini ice cream sandwiches on top of whipped cream!? Could you ask for anything more delicious? These over-the-top drinkable treats from Black Tap more than lived up to the hype. On this visit we ordered the Cookie Monster Shake, but when we go back — and we will go back — we have our eyes on the Sour Power.
