Keep Warm with these NYC Fall Cocktails
Sweater weather is officially upon us. These six delicious fall cocktails will help to warm your body and your soul.
Along with the changing colors of the leaves and the barrage of pumpkin spice everything, autumn also brings with it some chilly weather. What better way to warm up than with one of these fall-inspired cocktails? It’s always hard to say goodbye to summer, but these boozy concoctions make the seasonal transition just a little bit smoother.
1. Hot Wine Cocktails at Ootoya
One of the most celebrated Japanese restaurants in NYC, Ootoya is bringing the warmth directly to you with its Hot Wine Cocktails. Offering four different options — some infused with sake and others with tea — these inventive concoctions are sure to warm the hearts of any wine lover.
2. Campfire Fancy at Boilermaker
This scotch cocktail combined with cocoa and angostura bitters will make you want to seek out the nearest fireplace and curl up with a blanket and a good book, stat. With a toasted marshmallow as garnish, this drink is a hug in cocktail form.
3. Sweater Weather at Raines Law Room
Made with local apple cider, Tennessee whiskey, and cinnamon, this cocktail combines all of the best elements of fall — and would make the perfect nightcap after a day of apple picking or raking leaves. Note: you must be wearing a cozy sweater in order to be served this drink (not actually, but it makes it taste that much better!).
4. Chock Full O’Nuts at Pouring Ribbons
Served under a paper teepee, this whiskey cocktail wins the award for best presentation. This artfully concocted cocktail is infused with apple and lemon flavors and comes with a sprinkling of walnuts on top, making it an autumn staple.
5. The Great Maple Pumpkin at The Liberty
Who said that pumpkin spice had to come in latte form? The Liberty is putting a new spin on this classic fall flavor. With a combination of maple syrup, pumpkin puree, bourbon, rum, egg whites, and cream, this frothy cocktail is not for the faint of heart. The creator of the drink, Niccole Trazska, claims that it’s “as close to pumpkin pie as one will find in a cocktail.”
6. Maison Sherry Cobbler at Maison Premiere
Using a variety of different sherries, this drink transforms one of our favorite fall desserts into liquid (and alcoholic) form. The tartness of the lemon balances out the sweetness of the blueberry jam, making this drink not actually as sweet as pie (but pretty darn close).
