How Jackass’s Steve-O Got Sober

Despite struggling with drug and alcohol addictions, the star is now clean and sober.

Steve-O (born Stephen Glover) rose to fame at the start of the millennium as one of the stars of Jackass. He was known for idiotic but hilarious stunts that often involved inflicting immense amounts of pain on himself and his friends.

I don’t think it would surprise anyone to learn that Steve-O tore through drugs and alcohol at the time. During those years, he was risking his health from two directions: performing painful stunts and abusing mind-altering substances.

In an interview on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Steve-O summed it up by saying “I don’t what’s been more dangerous for me: my professional life or my personal life.” After going to brain specialists to have himself examined, he said that would stood out to them wasn’t the physical injuries he had incurred, but the long-term drug and alcohol abuse.

How Steve-O Got Sober
