Bund Activities in St. Louis County

This Newspaper clipping was printed in the St. Louis Dispatch on Nov. 18, 1937. The story addresses the debate on whether to allow the Bund to hold its “Midwestern Regional Convention” at the Oakville Farmers’ Club in St. Louis County. The convention was planned to be held at the German House (which is still up today, originally constructed in 1928; pictured below), but the German-Americans refused to hold the conference there because of their “anti-union, anti-social and un-American activities.” This proves how German-Americans were showing their patriotism in Missouri and refusing to support the rising nazi organization.
