This article contains an opinion piece about the fact that free public schools are being voted away and that Germans often face discrimination in academic institutions due to speaking different languages. This is compounded on the fact that non-german natives often teach German children how to speak and write German in these schools which leads to both parties being irritated by noticing the others ‘poor speech’

This article describes the meeting of a group in Buffalo, NY comprised of 130 German ‘Socialists, Communists, Dynamiters, and Anarchists” The meeting seems to have gone poorly for this group as they were accused of multiple counts of violent acts by the press, causing a stir in the conference

Profile 1: Union Record

Union Record most definitely is marketed towards white Americans. There is very little depiction of Germans from a German point of view or coverage of topics that Germans of the time would be interested in. There were no ads targeted towards Germans specifically.

Profile 2: Our County

The first thing I noticed for this publication was that there were German ads on some of the papers I read. The ads were targeted specifically for German peoples. The magazines frequently spoke of German life and what it means and is to be German as if a German was writing the articles.
