This article written by Chris Richardson in October of 1995 explains in detail about the frustrations that the German-Americans felt during World War I as the Missouri Governor Fredrick D. Gardner warned the pro-Germans to keep out of the state, and if they didnt listen he would consider them traitors who would face the firing squad. I also included a cartoon of anti German propaganda.
