Go beyond the poses

In the West, we typically think of yoga as the poses, which are known as Asana in Sanskrit. But there’s actually much more to yoga than just the physical postures.

Yoga is an ancient system that includes eight limbs. In addition to Asana, some of the other limbs include breathwork or breathing exercises, meditation, withdrawal of the senses, and ethical principles and restraints.

So even if you don’t have time to fit in a full physical yoga practice, you likely have time to squeeze in a five-minute meditation or breathing exercise. That still counts as yoga.
