Redesigning the dialog

The original design for the dialog bubbles in the book where a light blue colour with a subtle white gradient. The colour of the text was also white, making it harder for the user to read. Aside from the colours, the chosen typeface was an uppercase one, making the text less legible so I updated this too.

The refined version is white speech bubbles, inspired by ‘Oi! Duck billed platypus!’ by Kes Grey, with navy text in a different typeface, Fredoka One.

This contrast in the background and text makes it more legible, paired with the rounded sans serif makes it an easy read for the target audience.
