I listened to the Democratic Presidential Debate last night. (Election 2020.) With regard to his age and inexperience, the young candidate made remarks about citizens wanting “judgment not tenure”. One of the commenters after the debate further remarked something to the effect … “Does he not realize that good judgment often comes with experience?” Experience likely meaning age.

There is no one size fits all in life. A person who is young can exercise good judgment just like a person who is old or older. But that young person might be exercising judgment because they listened to the wisdom of the elder who had experience. You just don’t know that. Do you?

I said “might” and I say that because I often embraced the wisdom of the old folks. You could say that my judgment was based on their experience and judgment. It stopped me from doing a lot of stupid things. :)

At any rate, in my case, I personally think my age and my looks might be hindering me from getting employment. I said “might”. I prefer not to think that someone went behind my back and put a “black mark” on my work record. I heard one lady who said she kept wondering why she didn’t get jobs. So she hired an investigator. Come to find out, one of her previous employers had said some disparaging, derogatory, and untrue comments about her. Who knew? She was shocked!

I don’t bother looking for jobs anymore. I hired myself!
