Well-meaning “supporters” always try to encourage you by saying “Be the best!” But how often do they tell you to be better at your best?

I appreciate your advice to figure out what is best for you, be your best at it, and then constantly improve so that you get better at your best. This is as it should be. It’s life!

When you are old enough to understand what this wonderful life has to offer you, “NOW” is alright the right time to take stock to decide what you will offer to the world. And don’t take stock just once. Why not do this at various points along your timeline? As you said, “These often change as we get older”. And very likely, they keep changing as we get older … and older … and older.
