Your statement: “The first pillar of rape culture is ‘Blame the Victim’.” A pillar is a structure that provides support. That statement put fear and dread in my heart and I don’t even live in India. But my heart bleeds for the girl babies, young girls, and women who have to endure this. Do you realize that means that every day they wake up they have to be faced with the thought “Will I be safe today?”
I have read much about this CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY! Perhaps it occurs in other parts of the world but I have read and heard horrible reports of this happening specifically in India.
RAPE is not only a crime against a woman. It’s a crime against an entire community.
Every woman has the potential to become a mother to bring life into this world. Men who commit such acts of atrocity not only violate the woman, but I would go so far as to say they could potentially cut off the life of unborn human beings! It is such a vile act with far-reaching consequences.
You are right when you say the problem is MEN!
Every man in this world had a mother. Do you mean to tell me that they can’t look in the face of a woman they are brutally attacking and have no feelings of guilt and shame that the woman might be or could be someone’s mother? Not a wife. Not a sister. A MOTHER! A person who can bring life into the world.
All women should be revered and honored, and all mothers should be twice blessed.
There is something seriously wrong in a society or a culture that does NOT honor, respect, and protect their own women and children.
If these men trample on the life of their own and destroy them in such a ruthless, degrading, dehumanizing, and vile way, then what must the stranger think who visits that country? If the outsiders returned to their homes and reported: “Those people are savages!” Would that be UNTRUE?
Is it TRUE? Are the men of India nothing more than brute savages?
“I Love My India”. Isn’t that a patriotic song? How can men who violate their women with no feelings of remorse or regret or guilt or shame sing that song? Surely they don’t love their own country.
It’s not possible to defend your country and DEFILE YOUR WOMEN.
