facts over faith
(couldn’t sleep so) something to gnaw on for my friends out there who deal in the world of facing facts over hovering in fake faith:
0. by the time the average kid goes to school they have seen 40,000 deaths on television
1. 1 in 6 kids live in a war zone
2. 81% of all media on muslims is negative in america
3. 1 in 3 black men will go to prison in life
4. 85% of CEOs are rich white men
5. 80% of congress are rich white men
6. 70% of all terrorists are american-born white guys
7. you were once the youngest person alive
8. 1 in 15 of us will commit suicide
9. ‘unnatural carnal copulation’ i.e. sodomy is illegal in the military
10. the richest EIGHT (8!) men own more wealth than the poorest 3.6 billion (fyi: that’s half the world)
11. estimates suggest 11.5% of ALL WEALTH is stored UNTAXED by the uber-rich in off-shore accounts
12. you are 30 times more likely to die of gun violence in america than in europe
13. criminals deemed ‘unattractive’ receive 50% longer sentences
14. over this weekend i was told by ‘christians’ that i cannot be a christian if i dress in drag. i was called a fag, queer, & son of satan by these same ‘christians.’
15. we have enough wealth, food, water, shelter, and access for every person on this planet to live comfortably and we allow corporations and the very wealthy to pit us against each other, convincing us some are worthy and some are not in a system that is ‘just the way it is.’
