Five-a-side football is a fast-paced game, a great workout and great fun. This is no ordinary kick about with your mates though; with several big leagues across London competition is high. You can usually sign up as an individual or a team through one of the many networks of leagues throughout London.
5aside
With over 20 clubs spanning the capital, 5aside’s biggest plus point is that they take the hard work out of five-a-side organisation. The company provides a state-of-the-art floodlit astro pitches, balls, bibs and even employ FA qualified referees! The best part being that all you have to do is turn up and get stuck in. You play one 40 minute game per week over a 10 week season. Sign up online and pay a £100 deposit which is refunded at the end of the season if you played all your matches. Match fees are charged per week per player and usually run to about £8 each. Men’s only.
Powerplay
Powerplay has nearly 70 options for play across London. 40 minute games are played, with FA accredited referees and leagues to promote fair play. Powerplay has great features like iPhone and Android apps to keep track of your team, online payments and accounts and they boast that if you sign up today you could be playing by this evening. Mostly men’s but women’s leagues in Waterloo and Kennington.
Go Mammoth
The unique selling point of Go Mammoth is that you can select to play at one of two ability levels — recreational or intermediate, this helps you to get the most out of your gameplay. Register and pay online. Seasons are roughly 7 games plus playoffs. Fees vary from venue to venue. Mostly men’s but mixed games in Fulham and Whitechapel.

With over 15 centres in the Capital alone, Goals boasts one of the best offerings of quality facilities. They house various leagues and include mixed games in most of their centres. Tournaments are arranged by the organisation regularly, and even cater for kids football parties too.
