Whether you are looking to nurture a talent your child already has, help a shy little one to make some new friends or just have some good fun whilst learning some new skills; out of school clubs are a great thing for children. Across the capital there are all sorts of activities available

The Kids’ Cookery School

Based in Acton, this cookery school is set up to combat childhood obesity. They aim to educate children about where food comes from and how to cook healthy food. Its not all serious however, as there is a big emphasis on having fun and get messy! All the things kids love. Book workshops are available for £32, holiday classes (£17), groups sessions or parties. They also offer community outreach and are a registered charity.

Skate Fresh are London’s largest skate club, offering activities for kids. They are situated within large parks, safely away from traffic. Activities are available for children between ages 7–11, with classes in rollerblade/in-line skating taught at beginner, improved or advanced levels. Class prices start at £10 and are taught in one of 5 locations within London. They also offer lessons within private and party sessions too.

Aircraft Circus are a south West London based circus professional performances who now offer children’s mid-week and weekend classes.
Learn all round circus skills from juggling to trapeze, and is definitely for those who want to keep fit and have some fun. They also offer discounts when purchasing a block of classes. They are fairly pricey but professional trainers, specialist safety equipment are what you want for your kids.
“Trapeze Tots” classes for ages 3–7. “Circus Ninjas” for ages 7–10. “Youth Circus” for ages 11–17.

Little Hands Design

Located in Belsize Park, Little Hands Design offer sewing basics and fashion courses for all, especially kids and youths. They provide kids and teen classes in holidays and term time ages 6+. Interestingly, this can be put towards Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme. Classes cover, Sewing basics for making garments, surface design & mixed media and fashion illustration
Parties and special group sessions are available, with drop in classes from £16. Definitely worth a look for any budding fashion gurus out there.

London School of Basketball

The London School of Basketball are London’s grass-roots basketball network, supporting 96 teams across 23 boroughs. They include both male and female clubs and have seen big names come out in support. They cater to kids age 12 and above, and also provide basketball camps.
