I once generated three paragraphs of text, each one sentence long (after I added semicolons and parentheses), that were very well-received and then watched everyone else spend the entire meeting getting excitable about the way they encapsulated and articulated some very profound business sense.

What they said boiled down to:

1. We should make things;
2. sell them and
3. make a profit.

It is amazing what you can achieve with very little effort, amusing, makes you look competent and beats listening to everyone else’s half-arsed bullshit.
