Satire- ‘Color is skin deep, racism ain’t’, says Kanye on his new presidential project

(13 July, 2020, Jesusland, United States): After surprising millions of fans and dissenters globally in equal parts with his tweet on running for the Presidency of the United States of America just months before the November election, Kanye ‘I am Yeezy’ West will launch his next project that is a far cry from actually being part of the race to be the next U.S. president.

The ‘Stronger’ and ‘Gold Digger’ hit maker alluded in his official twitter account ‘ye @kanyewest’ late last night, in what seemed to be an apparent publicity tour for West’s upcoming album “God’s Country”, that he would be releasing and licencing songs based on suggestions for changing domestic and foreign policy agendas, and would be recording music with world personalities and daughter North West for ‘her mother earth’.

West announced that he would be holding a year-long 7 continent tour called ‘Breathe’ to promote his upcoming album starting November till end 2021, and would be meeting with many thought leaders, heads of states and influencers during his ‘sojourn’.

“Color is skin deep, racism ain’t. Real love needs new institution but not in 46 USA and world” (sic), said West ending the tweet.

United States is scheduled to hold 2020 Presidential elections in November with incumbent Donald Trump and Joe Biden, who was Vice-President to the 44th U.S. President Barack Obama, perceived to be the presumptive nominees from their respective parties. If Biden wins this 59th quadrennial election, he will become the 46th president of United States.

The polarising star, who had previously expressed his support for President Trump, created a media frenzy and much humorous speculation on social media by a Sunday morning tweet from last week that read “We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision and building our future. I am running for president of the United States” followed by a Twemoji of the United States national flag, exclamatory mark and #2020VISION.

After yesterday’s somewhat clarification tweet, West later went on a tweetstorm on everything from the ‘brilliance and foresight’ of his friend and electric carmaker Tesla CEO Elon Musk to the converging divides on thinker — feeler performance traits and deep state threats to the life of deceased financier Jeffrey Epstein’s associate and British Socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently jailed in New York facing charges of facilitating an underage sex-trafficking ring.

West’s wife and the $100-million-shy-to-be-billionaire U.S. reality T.V star Kim Kardashian followed the 'not in 46 USA' tweet by a story on her Instagram page saying that she would be supporting West’s presidential project by hosting her own new weekly live talk show on streaming platforms called “Friday Night Democracy”, not specifying if she has yet signed a licencing deal for the program.

Her family and friends would be part of the production and panels, and more people would be joining them as the discussion progresses, she said, adding that the show will converse on religion, civility, literary characters in various art forms and issues of mental health and modern media.

“It would be interesting to see how much of an effect this will have in influencing the coming Presidential elections and public judgment of our future scrambling over unartful social media posts” said Chiang LeRoux, senior fellow at Washington-based think tank America for All (AmfA).

“The seeping of popular culture into American foreign policy and elections is not new but it is somewhat disturbing to see them being accepted by the media for this level of individual decision-making capacity at the highest offices of a democracy,” Chiang added.

It is not known when West will be releasing his next album. His ninth studio album “Jesus Is King” was released in October last year after multiple delays and went on to top music charts while receiving differing opinions from critics.

It is also not immediately clear if President Trump or Elon Musk, who has previously released his own independent singles, including a rap song called “RIP Harambe” memorialising the slain gorilla, will be part of West’s upcoming album. Also hazy in details was how the international travel and flight restrictions related to ongoing Covid-19 pandemic will affect West’s planned tour or how he intends to get scheduled meetings with world leaders.

West’s team did not reply to multiple requests for comment on these or his plans for international collaboration with other world leaders for his forthcoming album.
