There were many displeased faces at President Trump’s Inauguration this January. Most notable was that of Hillary Clinton, who somehow managed to not murder-suicide everyone despite the fact that an orange Cheeto stole her job. There was also Michelle Obama, whose cold, worried expression resonated with millions of fearful Americans everywhere. And then there was Frederick Douglass, who’s done a great job and is being recognized more and more I feel.

Douglass’ presence at the 45th President’s inauguration went largely unnoticed because, at the time, he wasn’t as recognized as he is today. In a mere matter of weeks, Douglass has gone from zero to hero when his many great accomplishments were highlighted by Mr. Trump in his Black History Month remarks.

“Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I noticed.” — President Donald Trump , 2017

But how does Douglass feel about President Trump? These photos of the prominent social reformer, writer, and statesman in the small crowd say it all.
