Freedom In Turkey

I was fortunate to travel to Turkey a few years ago, invited to be on the jury for an international cartoon contest. There are many cartoonists in Turkey, and the country values its editorial cartoonists, and what they represent for freedom. When I was there, I spoke with many citizens about the erosion of freedom of expression; since then and following the coup attempt, it has gotten worse. Journalists are being jailed, including a cartoonist named Dogan Guzel. I do not know him, but I am concerned for all in Turkey — an amazingly beautiful and vibrant country — who work for justice and freedom.
