This is a good suggestion but, as has been noted in some other responses, it is the best way to fund Universal Basic Income. Most people see UBI as income redistribution but that has a whole range of problems not the least of which is fifty years of being people being told that is stealing to give to those lazy [insert ethnic group]. By funding a sovereign income from national equity we can solve a long term problem and correct many errors.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to make up for decades of social failure and abuse. It really only makes sense to start this on a true equity basis for that all residents get an equal share. I would also suggest that this be done through blockchain and crypto tokens for the distribution. These become more valuable over time. At the same time social services and education need to be made free to residents. This can be done in the old national currency by taxation to remove the distorted distribution of wealth. An interesting idea if we factor all of these things together.
