I believe many people who have been scrolling through IG Reels lately have probably heard this lyric before. This song is the title track from the single album released by FIFTY FIFTY, a new Korean girl group that debuted in 2022. The album includes three songs: the Korean version, the English version, and the instrumental version of “Cupid”.
FIFTY FIFTY is a girl group that debuted in November 2022 in South Korea, but they haven’t gained much fame since their debut. Their name has the meaning of “ideal” and “reality,” derived from “50 vs 50,” which also means 50% . They said that if the group is 50, they hope the fans are the other 50, so it will be 100, symbolizing perfection.
This song describes a very lonely girl who longs for love, taking Cupid as a starting point. Throughout the song, she repeatedly says “I gave Cupid a second chance, I’m really foolish enough to believe in you”, and you can tell that the protagonist is really disappointed with Cupid. Every time she believes in Cupid, love never comes, and she doesn’t know when Cupid’s love arrow will hit him.
I personally think that this song has a great rhythm and carries a sense of romanticism and freshness that is associated with teenage girls.
JISOO — 꽃(FLOWER)
Blackpink member Jisoo recently released her first solo single “꽃 Flower,” which has surpassed 60 million views in a short period of time, once again showcasing her goddess-level influence. Jimin is a South Korean male artist and member of the South Korean boy band BTS. He was the last member to join BTS and serves as the main dancer and lead vocalist in the group.
This is also a new challenge for Jimin. The overall psychedelic atmosphere in the MV, Jimin’s empty and seductive gazes, and his voice carrying a hint of sadness and sorrow, all give the impression that he is wandering in a dream.
