Content for your Facebook page

We have constantly tried to educate you on how to use your company Facebook pages better. We have covered how to use Facebook Pixels & Lookalike Audiences for your advertising, how to create groups and why, why Facebook videos are important, and what different types of ads you have available.

Facebook is one of the game changers on social media. In our Marketing Blueprint we always look at each company’s requirements and see, according to their industry, what their strategy should be on Facebook. But if you’re the kind of company that likes to do things in-house, it might be a good idea to subscribe to a couple of blogs to stay up to date with the latest updates and best practices.

For example, a couple of weeks ago Facebook announced that they will start prioritizing posts shared by friends and family over content from publishers and brands. In an attempt to get people engage with the posts more, much like Instagram and Snapchat are doing, facebook changed their algorithms so that companies step up their game and come up with share-worthy, compelling stories.

How TechCrunch are putting it ‘Facebook puts the benefit of its users above publishers, developers, advertisers, and even its own monetization. That’s because Facebook knows that if it doesn’t prioritize people, they won’t keep coming back. Without an audience, publishers can’t generate referral traffic, developers can’t gain app installs, ads don’t generate sales, and Facebook will wither.’ (read more here)

This gives businesses the opportunity to get creative with their content and start analyzing their trends more. Look into competition, curate content, invest time in bringing value to the followers, rather than just post meaningless articles. This translates into quality over quantity as well. Don’t just post pictures up, get creative with the captions, take inspirational at the next level. Nobody is going to share your course, unless you explain what it does, and give a real life example of how it changed someone’s life.

So make sure to revise your Facebook strategy moving forward to include more valuable, entertaining content. Focus on the photos, videos, the creative side of things and less on the selling and pitching. Think big. Think social.
