Slack & Trello

Project management and more importantly, tracking efficiency, is one of the most important things in business. The communication between staff and management is paramount for any company regardless whether it operates with an in-house or an offshore team.

We’ve discussed previously about how Slack and Trello can help you with your productivity and tracking of performance, but today we want to show how these two platforms can work together for an even more efficient use.

Available only for Trello Business Class users — The Slack Power-Up add-on can truly revolutionize the way you manage your workload. To activate Slack’s Power-Up, simply go to ‘Menu’ in the top right corner, then click ‘Power-Ups’ and scroll down till you find ‘Slack’ , then press ‘Enable’.

Now for the benefits. By integrating Slack into Trello you can now receive reminders about your Trello cards. So instead of getting yourself distracted when you’re being assigned a card, you can now schedule a reminder so you deal with it at a time of your convenience. You can also send reminders for other people, or entire channels straight from Trello into Slack.

Another awesome way these apps work together is that you can now assign a Trello board to specific Slack channels. Simply go to ‘Menu’ then ‘Power-Ups’, and then scroll down to Slack. As soon as you click on the gear icon you will be asked to choose a channel from the dropdown in order to assign it. Once you choose your channel it will appear in the top right hand side corner of your Trello board.

Another feature is that you can now send a Trello card directly into a Slack conversation. It will show the card’s name, its description, the board and list name where its located. Once clicked on, you will be taken directly to that card.

So as you can see the ways that you can use these two apps are endless and they truly do the trick when it comes to improving efficiency. Question is how are you using them, and are you happy with the result?
