1.
The Backseat Companion
Diego Petrucci and Gianfranco Lanzio are awesomeness–hunters like very few out there. Their weekly newsletter is flooded with great content you don’t want to miss. Also, sometimes they have guest curators, like yours truly (here’s my edition).
2.
Aeon Magazine
It’s startling how many good articles this web magazine is able to produce. There’s great variety of topics & authors and the writing is top-notch.
3.
Matter
Some of the best writing on the web right now happens on Medium, and in particular in the form of its own magazine Matter. To catch up on their previous posts, take a look at their archive.
4.
The Verge
Their daily newsletter is probably the best way to catch up on what’s happening in the tech world, and often not only that. It’s brief and it doesn’t feel automated.
5.
BuzzReads
The listicles’ king is also playing in the good-reads-delivered-in-the-weekend arena, and it’s pretty serious about it. The selection is very good and the layout is nice—you don’t want to read ugly newsletters, right?
6.
BrainPickings
I must admit that I often skip it because it’s huge, but there aren’t many sources like this one of thought-provoking and inspiring content, so give it a chance.
7.
The Daily Digg
A nice roundup of stuff that people are reading and watching right now. I never cared about Digg but this newsletter is really solid.
8.
Instapaper Weekly
If you have an Instapaper account, you should take a look at this. I prefer the Instapaper Daily feed rss (with one popular item every day) but for some a weekly digest is preferrable.
9.
Benedict’s Mobile Newsletter
Extensive weekly email newsletter focused on tech and mobile. It’s one of the most popular in the industry, but not my favorite. I prefer The Verge’s, but this one puts more information in the email itself.
10.
Charged
In his own words, Owen Williams’ newsletter “aggregates the best reads from the tech industry and boils them down into easy to understand language delivered right into your inbox.” This is a good one, especially if you’re also interested in startups.
BONUS.
Favorite Tweets Every Morning Via Email
This is an IFTTT recipe that I’m very proud of. During the day I use to star a lot of tweets for later reference: things to read later, nice quotes, great pictures or questions that I want to answer at another time. With this recipe, I receive every day an email recap of my starred tweets. Handy.
That’s it, I hope you’ll find value in this list and fill your inbox with love. If you have suggestions or just want to say Hi!, you can find me on Twitter.
