Netflix is killing the virtual living room
Watching any TV show and being on Twitter gives me the opportunity to share thoughts with other viewers, experience a series with other folks, join discussion, trying to guess what’s next, and so on.
I hate Netflix for not understanding this — or let’s just say for not giving a fuck about it. Releasing a full season of a show like House of Cards in a day kills any chance of creating a “viritual living room” for the benefit of our inner “laptop loner”. I really hope this doesn’t become a standard.
Morevoer, Netflix could use whatever schedule they want. It’s not television. They could release one episode every other day for example, and I think that would already be perfect to let the discussion happen.
