You want to hear a wolf howl? Or watching a grizzly bear harvesting some berries? Would you like to see fountains wham-bam coming out of the earth? Or admire colorful hot springs with their bright blue water surrounded by fiery arms of fluorescent orange. At Yellowstone National Park you are entering a surreal volcano world that offers one of the most extraordinary wildernesses on earth.

Yellowstone sits within the caldera of a giant, active and millions of years old volcano. This supervolcano is very much alive and continuously, shaking and baking. Some earthquakes occurred in the early past like 1989 where 8 visitors got hit by the Prokchop Geyser that erupted surprisingly. This Geyser was throwing rocks more than 200 meters. Fortunately, the astonished visitors did not get hurt. But most of the 3000 earthquakes measured by Seismometers per year are too small to be felt by human.

The Terrain offers many different landscapes and surprises that are changing almost every 20 to 30 miles. You can find barren moonscapes where fumaroles puff columns of sulfurous steam into the sky or this 1000 feet deep colorful Grand Canyon with it’s thunderous Upper and Lower Waterfalls (400 feet, 120 meters high). Other parts remind me of watercolor paintings like the porcelain basin full of acidic basins that contain high concentration of silica. Or the massive and green Lamar Valley famous as a hot spot of wolf viewing.

We visited the Park shortly after the Bears finalized their winter sleep/hibernation hence the park had been full by hungry bears, and we got lots of opportunities to watch them. When you had never seen Bisons before this is the place to go. These prehistoric animals can weigh up to 1,984 lbs (900 kg) and can become around 6 feet high (1,80 meters). Might you think they would be slow? They aren’t. They makeup to 50 kilometers and can jump quite high. We had seen a lot of wildlife including, grizzlies, black bears, pronghorns, coyotes, black wolfs, moose marmots and bisons and I have not listed all.
Yellowstone attracts interesting people that decide to live and to stay there. They might be fascinated by the poesie of this nature, the wilderness or the solitude. Although different types of personalities with interesting bios they have one in common — forming a community whose main interest ist o protect this wonderland. The music of my video is written by Jett Hitt and it is called Yellowstone. He is a local. I found out later during my inquiry.
