Our awarded “Facilitating Change” course, version 2021, kicked off on April 22nd! We are happy to announce that we had over 400 registrations and about half of those will be receiving proper study credits (thanks to FITech).

NOTE! You can still join the lectures as a “tourist”, i.e., you can listen and take part in the lecture discussions. However, the enrolment for credits is now closed. Just contact us via email facilitating(ät)aalto.fi .

Just like last year, this course is a powerful blend of hands-on practice and academic theory for anyone interested in change leadership, organisational transformation, organisation design, and becoming a change agent.

Last year’s materials are also available as an online handbook.

Jari Ylitalo and Risto Sarvas run the course and the outline is as follows (all lectures are broadcast live on thursdays from 16:15–18:00 using Zoom, except on May 12th the lecture is on Wednesday):

22.4. Opening lecture: paradigms, theories and the actual changing landscape. The fundamental change in thinking about leadership and organisations.

29.4. Organisational transformation in practice. The perspectives of top management, hands-on practitioners, and the people in the middle.

6.5. Lean, Agile, Design Thinking, Lean Startup… Which religion to choose? The common denominators behind all of these paradigms.

12.5. (Wednesday) Facilitation in depth. The reasons why leadership is more about the experiences created than structures and commands.

20.5. Tools, sprints, and workshops. Why are “canvases” suddenly everywhere and how to master them all?

27.5. Closing, reflection, and looking forward. Coaching and facilitating in an online environment. Paths towards your personal leadership and facilitation mastery.
