Now’s your chance to let Congress know you’re passionate about CARA!

Both the Senate and House have passed versions of the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act. Conferees from both bodies are currently meeting in what’s known as “conference” to finalize one bill that will go to the President’s desk for signature and passage into law.

It’s critically important that the conferees hear from you as soon as possible! These policy leaders must understand how important a comprehensive addiction response is in their home state.

“My son, Christopher, passed away on October 15, 2015. He used heroin that had been cut with Fentanyl. The two brothers that sold it to him got away with it because they called 911. I suspect they didn’t rush to call. I also believe that they moved him out of their house and into their yard. The worst part is that a few weeks before, he had asked to go to rehab but he couldn’t get anyone to help. He did not have insurance and was refused by Ocean County Board of Social Services. They had him in rehab once quite awhile ago. One stint of 30 days in rehab is not enough. Our tears are never ending. Our hearts, forever broken.”
