Recently, a picture with the caption “Gulistan’s drain line” has spread through social media. The picture shows the fish swimming in the line of the roadside drainage system. See below

Fact Check: The search revealed that the road and the side drain line was not from Bangladesh but a road from Japan.

Using the reverse image search method, the image was found on Mymdernmet, a platform for writing about the heritage of various cities around the world, under the title “Colorful Koi Fish Swim Through the Street Drainage Canals in This Japanese City”.

We found in “JapanInsides” also has a number of similar images, including the same image.

Consider that formula through keyword search we found a report in British daily newspaper Daily Mail, also mentioned similar type of pictures and topics.

Even searching by keywords on the internet, such an example of “Fish swimming in a drain” was not found anywhere else except in Japan.

Basically, the photo was first shared on March 4, 2017 by a user of the photo sharing site “Imgure”. Later it spread through various news and social media.

Verdict:

So, The drain line is not in Gulistan of Bangladesh. It is the place of Japan.
