Government spending on childcare

Most countries in the developed world prioritize spending for early childhood care. The US is an outlier.

Wealthy countries contribute an average of $14,000 per year for a toddler’s care, while the US contributes a measly $500 per year.

When analyzed in relation to G.D.P., the US spends 0.2% of its G.D.P. on early childcare, in comparison to an average of 0.7% spent in other developed countries.
