Contest of 3D models: creativity in 3D volume
Announcing at the end of October a new 3D-modeling contest, we couldn’t even think of such different and unusual ideas that the participants wish to implement.
Contest rules were absolutely simple: to tell about yourself and your passion for 3D-printing and upload an image of your model to the album of our competition. One of the winners ought to be determined by a jury, and the second one by the members of FACTORYFINDER group. Of course, for winning the competition, we have prepared a valuable prize — 15 thousand rubles for printing 3D models through a service FACTORYFINDER!
Among participants, there were both students and those who have graduated long ago but follows the latest technology trends and likes to experiment. Some people learned about the 3D printing recently, some others — like Alexander Inozemtsev — already print with their own 3D printers and help other people to make the broken parts. Additive technologies were applied even in music: Christian Zykov planned to print a guitar, and Maria Kiseleva — the symbol of her music group.
The competition between the participants led to sort of fighting for the votes of people! However the exciting story and interesting model of Vladislav Vlasov let him outgo other participants. The second winner by the jury’s decision became Lena Voronova — a student from St. Petersburg, who recently discovered 3D printing advantages and introduced for the competition the bracelet model.
Being a lover of computer games, Vladislav decided to print as a prize some items for the characters: the mask with a shoe for a character Richard from the game Hotline Miami and sword figures for a girl Red from the game Transistor. In addition to that set, light cycle model based on the movie “Tron” (1982) was published out of the competition. All models are manufactured by the Studio “Prototype” (Perm), and at the photoes you may see the precision and quality of the works.
FACTORYFINDER team is already preparing the new competitions and prizes for our users— follow us in Facebook and Twitter to hear about them first!
But for now we suggest you to take a look at the most interesting contest models and get to know the participants’ stories!
Dimitr Seregin:
“The model was developed entirely by me, I wanted to make a gift. There is a problem with the string printing since the diameter is very small, so I would like to print it with flexible plastic instead of ABS.”.”
Vladislav Sudilovskiy:
“I am interested in the sphere of 3D modeling and always wanted to print something, but it wasn’t possible without proper equipment. After attending FactoryFinder webinars, I learned more about the printing technology, and also got the idea to try to model something.”
Elena Voronova:
“I used to think that 3D printers print only parts for various technical devices. However, I saw a few days ago printed decorations in the Instagram of FactoryFinder, so I realized that this is what I need! “
Christian Zykov: “I am engaged in modeling for about six months. I work in the program and 123D has long languished idea to model something useful and interesting.
Recently I broke ukulele, so I decided to try to print the new one with 3D printer. On the Internet I saw some ready-made models, but I decided that it would be interesting to create something of my own. After six months of torment and calculations, I completed all the nesessary components of the model. “
Maria Kiseleva:
“I’m an engineer, machine operator, and still studying in Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. At my spare time I sing in a rock band DeltaPlan. This model is our first merch. “
Vladislav Vlasov:
“I study at the Faculty of Aerospace and work for one company to engineer precision coordinate measuring machine. Recently I’m fond of cyberpunk themes and 3D modeling, followed by printing on the 3D printer. I also collect figures of game characters and movies in a scale of 1/6. In the future, I plan with my friends to organize the company or studio to produce figures in the same scale on the subject of cyberpunk. “
Alexander Inozemtsev:
“At the first year at college I learned about 3D printing, I got interested in this sphere. Nowadays 5 years have passed, and the 3D technology became available to the ordinary consumer. So I decided to buy a printer, as for engineer it’s important to realize all your ideas. Now people ask me for help to make a broken part or to print a model. “
