BINGO!!

We hosted our 4th annual Native Studies Alumni nehiyawewin (Plains Cree language) BINGO on March 21st. It was our first time in-person bingo since the pandemic and we had a full house! Reconnecting with Alumni from 1995 to 2022, who are doing important work in various sectors of the community.

When asked what they enjoyed most about the event, this is what a few had to say:

“Being in the presence of Indigenous excellence! Plus the deadly prizes, amazing snacks, and beautiful networking.”

“I especially enjoyed the people (and stories) of how their degree(s) took them and it was fun seeing what Cree words I could recall”

Shout out to our Bingo Callers: Dorothy Thunder, Nathalie Kermoal and Adam Gaudry. And many thanks to Elder Lillian Gadwa for blessing all those in attendance and Marilyn Dumont for sharing her beautiful poetry! It was truly a special evening.

Can’t wait for the next bingo!
