Nathalie Kermoal Announced to be Acting Dean 2022–2023

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Nathalie Kermoal has been appointed Acting Dean for the Faculty of Native Studies for a term of July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 while Dr. Chris Andersen is on an administrative leave following his reappointment to a second term as dean, beginning July 1st, 2023.

Nathalie is a full professor in the Faculty of Native Studies, and since 2016, has held the role of Director of the Rupertsland Center for Métis Research. Nathalie previously served as Interim Dean of the Faculty of Native Studies in 2011–2012 and has served as Special Advisor on Aboriginal academic programs with the Provost’s office of the University of Alberta. Since 2009, she has served as the Associate-Dean Academic of the Faculty of Native Studies. She is a bilingual specialist (French and English) in Canadian history and more specifically in Métis history.
