Please read the below article for an introduction into the FaeFolk world:

The Overworld

The main map of FaeFolk is called the Overworld. This is where players utilize their resources to survive, build homes, progress through their environment, level up their tools, hunt, and so much more. This is where you will spend most of your time.

As you progress through numerous days (in game time) of gameplay, you’ll find your tools max out at stone, and your weapon is limited to a sword. You may be wondering, “What is this Workbench #2 for, and why is there a grain mill I can construct?” It is practically impossible to hunt predators with a sword, and your body is not enjoying a small game diet. Learning how to fish, hunt with a bow, harness magic, and master the land will come with risk. On top of the above challenges, the wood and stone walls in your home do not last forever; utilizing bronze, iron, and gold will be critical to survival. There are numerous items and game progressions that require items not available in the Overworld. Shall you wish to use potions, stronger resources, new tools/weapons, magic, farming, and more, you must master the Underworld.

The Underworld

Located randomly on the map, you will find a ladder that takes you below surface.

Upon entering this elaborate cave system, there are numerous threats. A player will find deadly slime, skeleton warriors, bats, spiders, and magical bosses. Only enter the cave with what you are comfortable losing.

The Underworld gameplay (only one level is shown)

Make it back out alive, and this risk pays off upon finding new resources, tools, and more to enhance your Overworld experience:

Gold ore — smelted into gold ingot
Iron ore —
smelted into iron ingot
Bronze ore —
smelted into bronze ingot
Silk —
essential resource for fishing rods, bows, and more
Bow and arrow — new weapon unlocked in workbench 2
Potions — at varying strengths: regeneration, damage, speed, and more
Seeds — a player can now learn the essential skill of farming
Fishing rod — a player can now learn to fish

If you make it to level 7 of the caves, you will encounter the first boss. Defeat the wind boss and earn the coveted Wind Staff.

If you make it to level 14, you will encounter the Fire Boss. Slay the beast to earn the Fire Staff.

Our current beta has 14 cave levels, but we plan to utilize bosses and more cave levels for all magical staffs.

The Market

FaeFolk has a unique NFT extraction mechanic, where surviving the caves with loot will send each extracted asset to the player’s wallet. Player A spent his valuable time surviving the caves and making it back to the Overworld. Perhaps he has extra potions, gold ingot, or a bow and arrow he does not plan on utilizing. Player A can sell his NFTs on our marketplace to Player B. Player B was able to save time and stay safe by not entering the caves and choosing to spend their coin on precious resources.

FaeFolk will have 0 artificial inflation on these valuable assets (ie: FaeFolk will not decide to list 1000 gold ingots to try and raise capital by inflating the gold market). Players can ONLY purchase assets that another player earned and is willing to list on the market. Therefore, we will have the most organic, natural NFT gaming market. Theoretically, the price of an asset should correlate to how players chose to value their time spent.
