I’m starting the 26th chapter of my life and am very grateful to have loving family and friends all around me. Here’s a few lessons that have made me smile, cry, stumble, and soar over the years. I decided to write them down as a reference for myself but thought it would be fun to share!
- Be happy. There’s not enough time to be upset.
- Exercise your body and mind.
- Be passionate. Live life, don’t let it just happen.
- Money can be earned. Time and love cannot.
- Explore new things and have adventures.
- Travel more.
- Do one thing well.
- Prevent information overload. Filter out noise.
- Appreciate your parents. They won’t be around forever.
- Spend time with yourself, family, and friends.
- Love more.
- Following the status quo isn’t fun. Neither is going against it.
- Things could always be worse.
- Don’t panic, don’t be anxious. Life goes on.
- Don’t sweat the small decisions.
- Own less things.
- Spend less than you earn.
- Always stay curious. Don’t let society’s norms bound your thinking.
- Be less busy. Take time to let your mind wander.
- Embrace mistakes. Apologize, learn, and grow.
- Deal with what’s thrown at you.
- Be self critical and validate yourself. Don’t seek validation from others.
- Only compete against the person in the mirror.
- Music helps the mind explore.
- Enrich yourself and those around you.
Just a few brief notes that at one point or another would have helped me out. Looking forward to taking on the next 25! Feel free to hit me up on twitter.
