Fairtrade MOJITO
Idea
Fairtrade mojito is a business idea that is based on fair- trade concepts. The cocktail would be sold in a beach bar and would have special promotion as the fairtrade product, since the ingredients that would be used are the one bought in the fairtrade deal with local growers.
Steps
- Make the product .
- Test it on the market on the small scale: share the free mojito samples on the beach.
- Gather the results and opinions of customers.
- Improve the product/ if necessary.
5. Make a deal/ contract with the growers of mint and brown sugar
6. Apply for the official permission and get the approval.
7. Renting a place on the location that meets specific needs of selling the product.
8. Getting all necessary material and ingredients.
9. Work on the marketing campaign for the bar opening promotion.
Marketing campaign consists of two steps:
- creating the official Facebook page of the bar and promote the page month in advance
- creating and sharing flyers on the street
10. Sharing free mojito cocktails on the opening night
11. Promoting the fairtrade concept to the guests through sharing the fair trade fidelity cards and through conversation with guests.
RESULTS
- fairtrade deals and positive outcomes for producers and small business owners
- raising awareness of fair- trade and motivating other people by giving positive example
- improving cocktail business
