Every time you load up a website, open an app, or look at a screen, advertisers and brands are bidding for your attention. There have been attempts to help you make some of the money back, and there’s been a veritable revolution in preventing those attention auctions (hi adblock 😉), but by and large the monetization schemes on the web are outmoded, with advertisers paying publishers for your attention.

With Atri, we’re turning the tables on how things are done; we put you back in control. We believe that every individual should be able to read, watch or listen to whatever they want, while every author, blogger, vlogger, podcaster, videographer, dj, gamer, or singer should be able to make a real living by creating quality work and distributing it on the web. At Atri, we envision a world where this is made easy without having to worry about clicking on a tip button, calculating micropayments, running a Kickstarter, or having a Patreon page.

To start, Atri does two things:

  1. It lets consumers open a fund that pays content creators in proportion to how much attention the creator earns over the course of a month; and
  2. it lets creators redeem that money by verifying their accounts on various social platforms (Twitter to start, but Facebook, Youtube, reddit, and more are coming soon).

We’re releasing a beta version of Atri today, available here for Google Chrome, with [your other favorite browser] versions in the works. The first 100 people to see this can use the invite code medium to sign up, or you can become a Founding Funder to support us for $25 which lets you skip the line and start using Atri today.

We hope you are as excited about Atri as we are — let us know at hello@atri.me and please follow us on Twitter at @AtriDotMe.
