So You Left Christianity. Does That Mean It Was Never True?
Your experiences and feelings have no bearing on truth
Your child comes home from school, announcing he’s done with school. Why? He only wants to learn about things he likes and enjoys. If it’s something he doesn’t find agreeable or pleasant, he doesn’t want to learn anything about it.
Let’s be honest. Many kids are like that. I was too — when I was a child.
But, as Paul the Apostle wrote…
When I became a man, I put away childish things.
Sadly, many adults (at least biologically speaking) haven’t put away childish things. They are only willing to confront or grapple with what they find pleasant or agreeable. They care about their feelings more than about facts.
Speaking of which…
Medium is full of loud and prolific voices who walked away from Christianity — or at least Bible-based Christianity — because of bad experiences, observed hypocrisy, hurt feelings, or outraged sensibilities.
To which I reply…
Seriously?
I’m not trying to be insensitive or difficult, but none of that “reasoning” — adds up for me. Not one bit.
