Why a podcast? Because stories build trust, deepen relationships, and transform our lives — especially through audio.

I have been podcasting since January 2015. In just six short years, the podcasting world has exploded in reach and impact with more producers, listeners, and brands joining this growing medium — especially during this pandemic.

Podcasting, created around the launch of the iPhone in 2007, is essentially radio-on-the-go, storytelling-in-your-pocket, or as a local podcaster told me, “theater of the mind.”

I have been writing online since Google launched Blogspot and helped us digital creators become “bloggers” overnight. But, I always felt I had more of a gift of gab than a knack for the written word. My creative weapon of choice was more the microphone and less the pen. Since rediscovering the power of storytelling and stories as an entrepreneur/church planter around 2008, I have leaned fully into mediums like podcasting to explore, discover, and create my own stories. When you listen to some of the more highly-produced podcasts that have been around for years (“This American Life” and crime shows), it definitely feels like theater of the mind: the music, commentary, voice-overs, dramatizations, and storytelling feel like fully immersive theater.

I have been more impacted by film and podcasts in the last ten years than any other medium. This is why I decided to expand the FaithWorks vision and mission into a podcast. Launched in February 2021, my goal is to share stories around faith, work, family, and more through guest interviews, poetry, stories, monologues, and more. I want to explore the many stories of how faith works in the everyday ordinary rhythms of life. You will hear guests from around the world with rich stories and relevant experiences that all of us can relate to and be motivated by.

Here are the episodes available already, with new episodes dropping every 4–5 weeks or so:

Episode #1 — Who, What, Why — Get to know me, my story, and my vision for the podcast.

Episode #2 — Interview, Tanner Olson — Discover poet, writer, and spoken word artist behind “Written to Speak,” Tanner Olson. Tanner and I dig into the wonders of childhood and the importance of creating and sharing our art with the world.

Episode #3 — Interview, Jonathan Bailey, Dwell Bible App — Dig into the beauty and tension of faith, work, and creating with faith-driven serial entrepreneur Jonathan R. Bailey, co-founder of the award-winning Dwell Bible App.

You can listen, subscribe, and share online or anywhere podcasts are found — Apple, Google, Spotify, Anchor, and more. I have already had almost 200 downloads in 7 countries (U.S., Japan, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Ghana, India).

I would love for you to check out the podcast, leave a review, and share it with your friends and family who need the encouragement to connect their faith more to their work and every area of life.

Look for more interviews to come this Summer/Fall with leaders, pastors, parents, artists, storytellers, and everyday builders.
