All of my nieces and nephews have entered high school this year. Their uncle (yours truly) is absolutely overjoyed.
At the same time, my father and mother will be 80 years old soon. They vigorously enjoy watching their long-running historical drama series, but I
increasingly think that it seems a bit lonely how they grew slightly distant from their grandchildren, who grew up and don’t visit so often anymore.
I happened upon a present in Isetan that would make all of them happy, and I ended up impulsively buying it: a wallet from a new brand, with the
concept of leaving one’s genes as leather goods to the coming generations! After sending your hair, it seems that they cultivate the leather products
based on the DNA information. The time has come when the remaining materials from the past genetic diagnosis are useful again….
I saw on the news how on the west coast of the US there was an opposition movement against the purchase of animal-based real leather, but this
product uses the technology of "cultured leather", which became a topic of discussion in Japan for a while. They are also collaborating with popular
designers, and it seems like the design is easily likeable for young people. By the way, my nephew likes fishing, so I chose the outdoor option with a
more water-resistant material… I hope he will like it.
It is a different problem whether to say "This is made of Grandpa and Grandma".
If anything, is it a secret surprise gift for Mom and Dad…? Anyhow, it will arrive at the end of this year, so I am looking forward to returning home then.
